Tuskegee University has named Dr. A.L. Fleming as the new Vice President of Advancement and Alumni Affairs. Dr. Fleming will start on April 1.
He joins Tuskegee from the University of North Carolina of Chapel Hill where he was a Senior Director of Development at the Kenan-Flagler Business School. He has also held similar positions at Albany State University, the Thurgood Marshall College Fund in Washington, D.C. and South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, S.C.
“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Fleming to Tuskegee University,” said Dr. Mark A. Brown, President and CEO. “His depth of experience in fundraising, accounting systems, and technology is going to transform how we attract donors and process and manage gifts. I’m especially excited about his plans to further service our many dedicated alumni! We look forward to his arrival.”
Dr. Fleming earned his bachelor’s in Political Science from Elizabeth City State University, his master’s in Educational Management from Strayer University, and his doctorate in education from National University.
“I am honored to join Tuskegee University as Vice President of Advancement and Alumni Affairs,” said Dr. Fleming. “I look forward to engaging our dedicated alumni, expanding donor partnerships, and advancing the mission of this storied institution.”
Dr. Fleming will report to the president and lead the team of fundraisers, gift processors and the Alumni Affairs team.
