Tuskegee University’s First Night Game is Sept. 6, Here’s What to Know Before You Go!

Picture of football field lit up at night There is something special about enjoying a gridiron battle under the lights. And on Sept. 6 Tuskegee University fans will be able to see all of the action as the bright lights beam onto the field at Cleve Abbott Stadium.

But there are a few things to know before the fun begins. If you don’t have your tickets yet, you can buy them here until 11:59 p.m. Friday night before each game. This season, no tickets will be sold on game day.

Stadium Entry

  • The university requires clear bags and there will be metal detectors and wands at every entrance into the stadium and at shuttle stops.
  • Please download tickets to your mobile device or print them before you arrive for fast entry.

Logistics

The TU Police Department is partnering with the City of Tuskegee to ensure the experience is as seamless as possible for all attendees. The main campus will close at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6 and visitors will not be allowed to enter the campus from 2 p.m. to Sunday, Sept. 7 at 6 a.m. No visitor passes will be issued during these hours.

  • The Cleve Abbott Stadium gates will open at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
  • The City of Tuskegee will have several parking restrictions in place:
  • The city will close Old Montgomery Road from Franklin Road to Fonville Road at 2 p.m. until one hour after the game. Only shuttle buses and emergency personnel will be allowed to enter.
  •  Thompson, Johnson, Floyd, and Chambliss Streets (west of the stadium) will be one-way streets from 2 p.m. until one hour after the game.
  • The city of Tuskegee asks that visitors adhere to the parking restrictions in the Greenwood neighborhood, northwest of the stadium.
  • Bibb, Franklin, Thompson, Johnson, Floyd, Chambliss and Old Montgomery Road will have no street parking.  Violators will be towed at the owner’s expense.
  • On several narrow streets, parking will be on the odd numbered side only. Violators will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Parking

  • Paid parking is at Booker T. Washington High School, 3803 W Martin Luther King Hwy, or Tuskegee Institute Middle School, 1809 Franklin Rd, with free shuttle and drop off at Cleve Abbott Stadium. You must buy parking in advance here.
  • Visit the university website or social media outlets for regular updates.
