Tuskegee University’s Master of Social Work (MSW) Online Program has been recognized among the Top Online MSW Programs in Alabama for 2026, earning the No. 2 ranking by
MastersinSocialWorkOnline.org.
This honor highlights the program’s academic excellence, commitment to accessible education, and growing impact in preparing social work professionals to serve communities across the state and beyond.
Launched just two years ago, the online MSW program has quickly emerged as a leader among the eight online MSW programs offered statewide—three of which are housed at HBCUs. The ranking underscores the program’s ability to combine rigorous instruction with a flexible format that meets the needs of today’s working professionals.
“This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our faculty and the innovation driving our distance-learning program,” said Dr. April Jones, Department of Social Work Associate Professor. “To be ranked among the top programs in Alabama in only our second year underscores the academic rigor, relevance, and reach of Tuskegee’s social work education.”
