Contact: Thonnia Lee, Office of Strategic Communications

TU name at main entranceTuskegee University officials have monitored the National Weather Service reports for the Macon County area. Because the safety of the campus community is always the priority, classes will be canceled on Monday, Jan. 26 in anticipation of black ice and below-freezing temperatures.

Students will be able to access the cafeteria in Tompkins Hall from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday. They are asked to limit their activity on campus as streets and sidewalks may be slippery. The Skegee Grill and Chick-fil-A will not open on Monday.

While classes are canceled, Tuskegee University staff are asked to coordinate with their managers for a remote workday. Essential workers – police, cafeteria and facilities employees – are asked to report as scheduled.

The university will continue to monitor weather reports and will provide updates as necessary.
