Cassandra Tarver-Ross headshotIt is with great sadness that Tuskegee University announces the passing of Cassandra Tarver-Ross, Chief Human Resources Officer.

Her service to the university touched every employee and student on campus. A native of Tuskegee, she returned to the area in 2021 to lead the university’s Human Resources division. She held similar roles at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, where she earned her bachelor’s degree, and Auburn University at Montgomery.

“Tuskegee University is heartbroken by this loss,” said Dr. Mark A. Brown, President and CEO. “Ms. Tarver-Ross was a trusted member of my Cabinet and dedicated to elevating the workplace experience for faculty and staff on campus.

“She continued to lead, despite her illness, solidifying her commitment to the campus and our students,” he said. “Our gratitude for that dedication knows no end. We extend our condolences to her mother, sister and son.”

Tuskegee University will share details on services once they are available.
