Law School representative talking with studentTuskegee University hosted its ninth Annual Law School Fair this week, an event that continues to play a vital role in preparing students for law school, the legal profession, and public leadership. This year, the fair welcomed representatives from more than 80 law schools to campus, including Baylor University, Texas Southern University, Case Western Reserve University, Howard University, and others. As a hallmark of the university’s pre-law programming, the fair connects students with law schools from across the country while offering guidance, mentorship, and experiential learning opportunities that support students at every stage of the law school admissions process.  See the full list of law schools at the 2026 Law School Fair here.

The Law School Fair is part of a series of immersive events designed to help students explore legal careers, understand law school expectations, and strengthen their academic and professional profiles. Over the years, the fair has earned a strong reputation through word-of-mouth, consistently attracting new students into the pre-law program and providing sustained support through application preparation, admissions decisions, and post-admission success.

Students are also urged to fully participate in all events, join the Pre-Law Society, and build strong relationships with pre-law advisors who provide guidance and mentorship throughout the process For visiting law schools, the fair serves as an opportunity to experience firsthand the talent and potential of Tuskegee students.

“The university aims to strengthen relationships with participating institutions and position Tuskegee University as a trusted partner and consistent source of strong law school applicants who are intellectually curious, well-prepared, and committed to contributing positively to the legal profession,” said Dr. Tammy Laughlin, Assistant Professor of Political Science and Pre-Law Co-Advisor.

“The Law School Fair and our expanded co-curricular offerings create a comprehensive and intentional pipeline. Our goal is to ensure students are not only competitive law school applicants but also prepared to thrive once they arrive.”

Tuskegee University students bring a distinctive set of strengths to the law school admissions process.

“We are intentionally growing the Pre-Law Society in its scope and leadership to expand offerings that meet students where they are in their law school journey,” said Dr. John Tilghman, Chair of the Department of History and Political Science. “I see this as a positive move that provides students with real-world experience in helping to plan events and maintaining an organization.”

Dr. Laughlin says she hopes students left the fair with a renewed sense of confidence and clarity about their futures.

“Students are encouraged to engage directly with admissions representatives during our law school fairs, ask meaningful questions, and gain a realistic understanding of law school life—its academic rigor, professional demands, and opportunities for growth,” said Dr. Laughlin. “The fair also provides insight into application strategies, admissions timelines, and pathways to scholarships and financial support.”
