InterLibrary Loan Program
Interlibrary loan services are available to faculty, students, and staff for materials not owned by the Tuskegee University Libraries. The Tuskegee University Libraries have also developed partnerships and collaborative agreements to expand access to information. The Network of Alabama Academic Libraries (NAAL) is a member-governed consortium of Alabama’s public and private non-profit four-year colleges and universities. These institutions have collaborated to share academic library resources to assure that every student and researcher obtains the information needed for a successful educational experience. As a member of the Network of Alabama Academic Libraries (NAAL), the library has “no cost” interlibrary loan access to member libraries in the state. Articles are usually received in two to four days, and books are received in three to five days. Items not available for interlibrary loan within the state are obtained at cost from other universities outside the State of Alabama.
Special Collections
The Robert R. Taylor School of Architecture and Construction Science Library Special Collections/Archives Room, is located in Willcox Building C, Room 101. The Archives Room, a non-circulating collection, contains several volumes of Rare and Historic Books on Architecture, Construction, Design, Landscape Architecture, and Architectural Monographs from 19th and 20th century printings of architectural treatises written by significant authors and contributors in the Design and Building Arts – and were used in the education of Tuskegee architectural and construction students for the greater part of the past century. A number of the volumes in the Rare Books Collection are from the Library of Benjamin Wistar Morris – a colleague of the famous New York firm of Carrere and Hastings, the architects of the New York Public Library during the Gilded Age.
