  • immunology and infectious diseases,
  • obesity and control of food intake,
  • epidemiology and risk analysis,
  • food safety,
  • nanotechnology
  • reproductive physiology,
  • toxicology
  • targeted drug delivery and phage-based nano-medicines and
  • renal dysplasia and cystic kidney disease.

Overview

Our main facility is located in Williams-Bowie Hall. This facility includes the Office of Research and Advanced Studies, three core laboratories and well-equipped faculty Research Laboratories, and a state-of-the-art Laboratory animal facility. Offices for graduate students, postdoctoral research associates, and technicians are also located in this building. Faculty members and graduate students also have access to core laboratories located in other colleges in our university.

This single centralized facility is strategically situated to maximize students' exposure to a variety of academic activities e.g. workshops, seminars, different departmental presentations, and symposiums.

About Tuskegee Veterinary Scholars Program (TVSP)

Tuskegee Veterinary Scholars Program (TVSP)

Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine (TUCVM) offers a structured Summer Research Program to first, second, and possibly third-year veterinary students. This program is known as The Tuskegee Veterinary Scholars Program or TVSP. This program aims to introduce students to high-quality biomedical research to help them explore it as a possible career opportunity for them following their graduation from the veterinary program. This program comprises 3 sub-programs each funded independently by The Human Health Services Centers of Excellence Grant (HHS-COE), The National Institutes of Health T35 Grant (NIH-T35), or The Boehringer Ingelheim Veterinary Scholar Program (BI-VSP).

Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine is committed to making this research experience a professionally enriching opportunity for all participants.

BI-VSP : Boehringer-Ingelheim Veterinary Scholars Program

Boehringer-Ingelheim Veterinary Scholars Program (BIVSP) application is open for first and second-year veterinary students who want to explore biomedical research as a career option following their graduation. The BIVSP enables scholars to actively participate in all aspects of biomedical research by attending various seminars, workshops, laboratory meetings, and journal clubs, designing and executing experiments, learning different hands-on experiences in the laboratory, and writing and presenting data professionally. At the end of the program,  all participants are expected to attend and present their results at The  National Veterinary Scholars Symposium.
