Tuskegee wins SIAC basketball crown, advances to NCAA II tournament

The Golden Tigers defeated top-seeded Clark Atlanta 61-57 Saturday night in the finals of the 77th SIAC basketball tournament at Forbes Arena on the Morehouse College campus in Atlanta, earning a berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament.  The Golden Tigers will compete in the South Regional, which will be held in Russellville, Ark., March 13, 14 and 16.

Open House for prospective students, families to be held March 27

Tuskegee University will welcome prospective students and their families during its annual Spring Open House on March 27. "This is the opportunity for Tuskegee University to show off its highly acclaimed academic programs in engineering, veterinary medicine, business, the sciences and liberal arts. Music preservationist Calvin Earl to deliver Ellison Lecture

Music historian and recording artist Calvin Earl will present Tuskegee University's 15th annual Ralph Ellison Lecture.  Titled "The History of the Spirituals," the lecture is at 3 p.m. on March 17 in the Kellogg Conference Center auditorium. Earl achieved national prominence in 2007 when his efforts prompted a congressional resolution honoring African-American slaves for their contributions to the nation

School of Veterinary Medicine sponsors Small Animal Mobile Wellness Clinic

Preventive health care is not only a focus for people but for pets as well.  To promote comprehensive health care for pets and help prevent diseases and illnesses of pet populations in Macon County and surrounding counties, the Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine, Small Animal Hospital is kicking off the 2010 Small Animal Mobile Wellness Clinic on March 13.  The mobile wellness clinic will run from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays
