Tuskegee University was founded in 1881 with a bold vision: that education could transform lives, strengthen communities, and shape the future. For more than 140 years, Tuskegee has produced leaders, innovators, and changemakers who have advanced science, engineering, agriculture, health, military service, and public leadership across the nation and around the world.
Today, Tuskegee stands at another defining moment.
The Campaign for Tuskegee University is a $300 million comprehensive initiative designed to strengthen the university’s ability to educate the next generation of leaders and address the world’s most pressing challenges. The campaign focuses on expanding opportunities for students, advancing research and innovation, modernizing campus facilities, and strengthening the university’s long-term sustainability.
A comprehensive campaign is a multi-year institutional initiative designed to strengthen every aspect of the university—expanding opportunities for students, advancing research and academic excellence, enhancing campus facilities, and increasing the university’s endowment to support long-term sustainability.
Tuskegee University’s comprehensive campaign began its quiet phase on July 1, 2020, and entered its public phase on September 19, 2025. With more than 47% of the campaign funds already secured, the university is steadily advancing toward its goals of raising $300 million, growing the endowment to $200 million, and achieving a 33% alumni participation rate in campaign giving.
