Ph.D. Degree in Agricultural & Environmental Sciences Engineering (AESE)
The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree program in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Engineering is an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary program that leverages faculty expertise, research, and academic strengths of the College of Agriculture, Environment and Nutrition Sciences (CAENS) and the College of Engineering (COE).
The program integrates agriculture, environmental sciences, and engineering to address national and global challenges of the 21st century. Students may select from three core areas of specialization.
This concentration addresses critical issues in environmental and natural resource management, including water resources, environmental sustainability, climate variability, and agricultural systems.
Students develop technologies using data science, GIS, modeling systems, artificial intelligence, and sustainable engineering solutions to protect soil, water, and air resources.
This concentration focuses on training students in agricultural science and engineering technologies required for the development and analysis of renewable energy systems.
Students explore sustainable energy alternatives derived from agricultural and natural resources, contributing to innovative and efficient energy solutions.
This concentration focuses on all aspects of food science and food processing, including product development, process design, and system optimization.
